  • Typical Service Temperature: ≤ 480°C (≤ 900°F)
  • Key Applications:
    • Petrochemical & Refining: Hydrotreating reactors, medium‑pressure separators, heat exchangers, reboilers, and moderate sour‑service vessels (natural gas sweetening).
    • Power Generation: Boiler drums, economizers, superheaters, and steam piping for subcritical power plants.
    • Chemical & Fertilizer: Ammonia synthesis reactors, gasifiers, and high‑temperature heat exchangers.
    • General: Pressure vessels, piping, and furnace components in moderate high‑temperature, non‑extreme hydrogen environments.

SA387 Gr22 CL2 (2.25Cr‑1.0Mo)

  • Typical Service Temperature: 480–560°C (900–1040°F)
  • Key Applications:
    • Petrochemical & Refining: Hydrocracking reactors (hot‑wall), high‑pressure heat exchangers, separators, and equipment in severe hydrogen‑rich / H₂S (sour) service.
    • Power Generation: Superheaters, reheaters, thick headers, and main steam piping for subcritical and near‑supercritical boilers.
    • Chemical: Coal liquefaction, methanol synthesis, and high‑pressure reaction vessels.
    • Oil & Gas: Sour gas processing units and high‑temperature pipeline components.

SA387 Gr91 CL2 (9Cr‑1Mo‑V‑Nb)

  • Typical Service Temperature: 550–650°C (1020–1200°F)
  • Key Applications:
    • Power Generation: Superheaters, reheaters, headers, and steam piping in ultra‑supercritical (USC) and advanced supercritical (ASC) power plants; primary candidate for high‑efficiency coal‑fired and combined‑cycle plants.
    • Petrochemical: High‑temperature reformers, ethylene crackers, and hydrogen production heat exchangers where creep resistance is critical.
    • Industrial: High‑temperature pressure vessels, reactors, and piping in processes with long‑term creep exposure (≥ 10‑year design life).
