S355J2+N is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel under the European standard EN 10025-2, and its naming convention is as follows:
S: Represents structural steel.
355: The minimum yield strength at room temperature is 355MPa, which is the core indicator for measuring the strength of steel.
J2: Steel is required to maintain good impact toughness at low temperatures of -20 ℃ to avoid brittle fracture.
+N: Delivery status equivalent to normalizing rolling.

Core Performance Characteristics
High strength and toughness
Yield strength: ≥ 355MPa (thickness ≤ 16mm), with a gradient decrease as thickness increases (e.g. ≥ 265MPa at 250-400mm).
Tensile strength: 450-680MPa, combining strength and ductility.Low temperature toughness: Impact energy ≥ 27J at -20 ℃ to avoid brittle failure in cold regions.
Excellent welding performance
Low carbon equivalent, not suitable for cracking during welding, compatible with various processes such as manual arc welding, gas shielded welding, submerged arc welding, etc.
The weld quality is high, and the joint strength is close to the base metal, meeting the requirements of complex structural connections.
Good processing performance
Easy to cut, drill, bend, rivet and other processing operations, with high processing efficiency and less likely to produce cracks.
Corrosion resistance
By adding alloying elements such as copper and chromium, the durability in corrosive environments is improved, making it suitable for marine, chemical, and other scenarios.
Flexibility in delivery status
Supports various states such as hot rolling, controlled rolling (TMCP), and normalizing rolling, and can adjust performance according to customer needs.
